    As a Tax Supervisor at Squire, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive tax services and solutions to our diverse clientele. This position demands a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and client relationship management to ensure the delivery of exceptional service and value.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Tax Compliance: You will lead and oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts. Ensuring accuracy, compliance with tax laws, and timely submission are paramount.

    Tax Planning and Consulting: Collaborate with clients to develop tax strategies that align with their financial objectives, mitigate tax liabilities, and maximize opportunities for tax savings. Provide proactive advice on various tax matters, including entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and international taxation.

    Research and Analysis: Stay abreast of evolving tax laws, regulations, and rulings to provide informed guidance to clients and internal stakeholders. Conduct thorough research and analysis on tax issues to address client inquiries and support decision-making processes.

    Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients by serving as a trusted advisor on tax-related matters. Understand their unique needs, objectives, and challenges to deliver tailored solutions and exceptional client service.

    Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and coach junior staff members, providing

    Quality Control and Risk Management: Implement and uphold rigorous quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of tax engagements.     Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA license preferred.
    • 4+ years of experience in tax compliance and consulting within a public accounting firm.
    • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx Tax, Thomson Reuters UltraTax) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple engagements concurrently.

    About the role:

    As Senior Sales Tax Technology Specialist at Squire, you will work closely with the Sales Tax Advisory Team and the Sales Tax Compliance and Regulatory Team to support our clients in their tax compliance and technology needs.  This includes the implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of tax automation software such as Avalara, Sovos, or Vertex. The role focuses on ensuring that sales tax calculations, reporting, and filings are accurate and aligned with ever-changing tax regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    Sales Tax Software Implementation and Maintenance

    • Configure sales tax software integrations with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks), e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento), and POS systems.
    • Ensure proper tax nexus and jurisdictional rules are set up in compliance with company requirements and tax laws.
    • Monitor software updates and ensure tax automation tools reflect the latest regulatory changes (e.g., rate updates, new nexus laws).

    Technical Support and Troubleshooting

    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tax software integrations, tax calculation errors, and data discrepancies.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between software vendors (e.g., Avalara, Sovos) and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues.

    Data Management and Reporting

    • Extract, analyze, and validate sales tax data to ensure accuracy for reporting and audit purposes.
    • Generate tax reports for filing, reconciling discrepancies between software, ERP, and payment systems.
    • Provide support for sales tax audits by preparing transaction data and answering technical questions related to system configurations.
    • Ability to provide tax mapping and taxability guidance

    Collaboration with Teams

    • Work closely with tax compliance teams to identify technical needs and optimize sales tax processes.

    Process Improvement and Automation

    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience with sales tax compliance, software implementation, and technical support.
    • Familiarity with sales tax automation tools such as Avalara, Sovos, Vertex, or TaxJar.
    • Strong understanding of tax software integrations with ERP and e-commerce systems.
    • Proficiency in Excel and experience with data processing and reporting.
    • Knowledge of API functionality and workflows for system integrations.
    • Basic understanding of SQL, database management, or scripting languages.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong spoken and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience managing multi-state nexus and sales tax compliance for e-commerce or retail businesses.

    About the role: 

    The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and callers, creating a professional, welcoming, and positive first impression of Squire. This role provides front desk coverage while supporting the firm’s daily operations through a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, including managing calls, greeting guests, coordinating office needs, and assisting employees and Partners. The position regularly handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

    To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a friendly and polished demeanor, strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility, reliability, and a customer-service mindset are essential. 

    Responsibilities: 

    • Serve as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and guests by creating a professional, welcoming, and polished front desk experience.
    • Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls while responding to general inquiries promptly and professionally.
    • Notify appropriate team members of visitor arrivals and help maintain the security and professionalism of the reception area.
    • Provide administrative support to employees and Partners, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and firm events.
    • Manage incoming and outgoing mail operations, including sorting, metering, and distributing mail.
    • Support new client set up and assist with document retention and records management processes.
    • Assist with processing checks received and preparing daily deposit recaps.
    • Maintain and update the firm directory and other office resources.
    • Coordinate with Administrative Assistants and internal teams to support office workflow, deadlines, and special projects.
    • Assist with office supply ordering, inventory management, and stocking common areas.
    • Support internal meetings, employee programs, and luncheon functions as needed.
    • Assist with maintaining kitchen, snack, and common area supplies to ensure a clean and welcoming office environment.
    • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the reception area and outdoor drop box.
    • Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
