US economy added 156,000 jobs in December

The US economy added 156,000 jobs in December, while the unemployment rate rose to 4.7%, according to the Labor Department. October and November’s data were revised upward to show 19,000 additional jobs were gained during these months, bringing 2016’s total to 2.16 million jobs.
