US consumers show their strength

US consumers remain a potent force in the global economy, backed by income growth and relatively low interest rates and gas prices, according to a Macquarie Capital Markets client note. The Atlanta Fed’s GDPNow model points to a second-quarter annualized growth rate of 4.5% quarter-over-quarter in personal consumption expenditures, according to the note.
