Squire Leaders Honored with 2026 UACPA Awards
CEO Jonyce Bullock and Southern Region Managing Partner Phillip Peine recognized for leadership and service; retired Squire Managing Partner Tim Larsen receives Lifetime Member Award
September 25, 2026—Squire, a nationally recognized accounting and advisory firm serving the Intermountain West, announced that two current leaders and one former firm leader have been recognized by the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA) for their contributions to the accounting profession and business community.
Squire CEO Jonyce Bullock received UACPA’s Distinguished Service Award, while Southern Region Managing Partner Phillip Peine was named the Outstanding CPA in Business & Management. Retired Squire Managing Partner Tim Larsen was also recognized with UACPA’s Lifetime Member Award, honoring more than four decades of leadership and service to the profession.
“Having watched Squire evolve over more than four decades, it is incredibly meaningful to see leaders like Jonyce and Phillip continue to move the firm and our profession forward,” said Larsen “Their leadership reflects what has always made Squire special: a commitment to our people, our clients and the communities we serve. Bullock received the Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her sustained leadership and service to the accounting profession. As CEO, she has guided Squire through significant growth and transformation while remaining deeply committed to developing the people and profession behind that success. Squire’s first female partner, Bullock later founded Women Improving Professionally (WIP), an initiative focused on mentorship, leadership development and supporting women in the profession. Her service has included roles with the AICPA Board of Directors, Brigham Young University and University of Utah Schools of Accountancy and the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce, alongside numerous local, national and international recognitions for her leadership.
Peine was recognized with the Outstanding CPA in Business & Management Award for his 30-year career as a trusted advisor, business leader and mentor. Prior to joining Squire through its acquisition of HintonBurdick, Peine served as HintonBurdick’s managing partner for more than 13 years, helping grow the firm from three offices into a multi-state organization while mentoring numerous employees into partner roles. He also played a pivotal role in bringing HintonBurdick and Squire together and today serves as Squire’s Southern Region Managing Partner and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and Management Committee.
Larsen received UACPA’s Lifetime Member Award in recognition of more than 40 years of contributions to Squire and Utah’s accounting profession. During his career, he served 14 years as Squire’s managing partner and became the first CPA in Utah to earn the AICPA’s Certified Information Technology Professional credential. His service to the profession and broader business community included leadership with UACPA, the AICPA Council, the Provo-Orem Chamber of Commerce and the Utah Tax Review Commission.

I’m honored to be recognized alongside someone who has contributed so much to our firm and the accounting community throughout his career.”
The three honors reflect Squire’s longstanding commitment to leadership, mentorship and service to the accounting profession and recognize the impact its leaders have made on colleagues, clients and communities throughout their careers.
