Smaller companies trail in adoption of updated COSO guidelines

Small public companies are lagging their larger counterparts in adopting the updated guidelines issued by the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission two years ago, according to data compiled by Audit Analytics. Only two-fifths of companies with less than $75 million in freely traded shares are using the guidelines, compared with 84% of the largest companies.
