IRS enforcement activities dropped in 2016

The Internal Revenue Service’s report on its activities during its 2016 fiscal year showed its enforcement activities falling sharply from the FY 2015 levels: Audits were down 16%, and levies were down 40%. Record numbers of taxpayers, however, used the IRS’s “Where’s My Refund?” tool and its mobile app.
