Fed closer to raising interest rates, minutes show

Members of the Federal Open Market Committee said economic conditions in the U.S. that would support an interest-rate hike were getting stronger but weren’t quite there yet. “Most judged that the conditions for policy firming had not yet been achieved, but they noted that conditions were approaching that point,” minutes of the committee’s July meeting said.
