Companies see benefit of strict 40-hour workweek

A number of companies are insisting that employees work exactly 40 hours a week, with no extra time at night or on weekends for sending e-mails or doing other work-related tasks. These “firm 40” policies help employees be more efficient when they’re in the office and can be an attractive perk when recruiting, leaders say.
