Marc joined Squire in October of 2013, with about 6 years of Controller level experience in the Direct Selling industry. He serves as one of Squire’s outsourced CFO/Controllers, focusing primarily on helping companies in the Direct Selling space. He especially enjoys helping new startup businesses get their accounting departments structured and giving them the tools they need to succeed.

“I grew up planting, constructing, and harvesting alongside my Dad,” explains Chad Atkinson. Chad’s rural southern Utah roots instilled his persistent work ethic and life-long focus on community-building. An avid adventurer, Chad enjoys hiking, canyoneering, rappelling, backpacking and parenting his six children. Amanda Barrett-Brough

Amanda is a Certified Public Account who joined the Squire team in 2005 after receiving a Bachelor of Science from Utah Valley University and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Utah. Amanda is an audit partner and currently serves as the audit practice area leader. Amanda’s industry experience includes real estate, manufacturing, insurance, and professional services. She regularly attends the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association local chapter meetings as well as the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce Women Business Network, and Women Tech Council events. As a member of the UACPA Financial Literacy Committee, she gets the opportunity to teach to people in the community courses on financial literacy. She volunteers with VentureCapital.org mentoring start-ups as they prepare 10-minute pitches for their Deal Forums. At Squire, she is currently, on a committee with four partners going through a pilot program with the AICPA for a women’s initiative program. She is a 2016 AICPA Leadership Academy graduate—an academy that selects only 50 people in the country to attend annually.
Amanda is the leader of the Squire Women Improving Professionally group. She is also the leader of the Squire professional services industry group team and helps clients in this industry set and meet their financial reporting objectives.
When she isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, watching her children participate in sports, and reading good books.

Kris Braunberger was raised as a Utah Dixie kid, who loved his tax, math, and business classes, and as a result, got an accounting degree from the University of Utah. He has worked for HintonBurdick CPAs from the time the company was a fledgling business in the early ’90s. His area of focus is business taxation & planning, construction, and real estate development. He routinely lectures for Southern Utah Homebuilders Association, Dixie State University, and the Utah Homebuilders Association, teaching tax law, accounting and business startup courses to persons who are new to the business world. Kris is frequently found meeting with his clients, tax strategizing or developing innovative approaches to their business challenges. He enjoys helping people meet their financial goals. Kris currently serves as the head of the firm’s Tax Department. He is a board member of Southern Utah Five County Revolving Loan Fund Board. Megan is an Advisory Partner who started as an intern with Squire in 2006 as she earned her Master’s of Accountancy degree from Brigham Young University in 2007. She has over a decade of experience working with businesses across several industries, specializing in QuickBooks consulting and outsourced accounting services for manufacturing and distribution clients. Megan is a writer and presenter for Intuit’s Trainer Writer Network and is recognized nationwide for her early adoption and expertise in QuickBooks Online. She has also been recognized as a Top 100 Quickbooks ® ProAdvisor by Insightful Accountant since 2016.
Megan is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants. She has held many positions on the board of the Kiwanis Club of Orem for since 2008 and is also on the board of the Women in Business Network of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Jonyce Bullock

Jonyce is CEO of Squire and Office Managing Partner of the Orem office. She graduated Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with a B.S. and Master of Accountancy with an emphasis in taxation. Jonyce is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants. Jonyce started at Squire in 1999 as a member of Squire’s tax team. In 2000, Jonyce started what became Squire’s QuickBooks support and consulting team and served as client accounting service lead. Squire became the first Intuit Partner in Utah and under Jonyce’s leadership, Squire is now the only Intuit Premier Partner in Utah. Prior to taking the helm as CEO in January, 2018, Jonyce had led Squire’s advisory practice area team from 2012-2017.
Jonyce was named an Intuit Top 100 ProAdvisor five years in a row prior to her focus shifting to her CEO responsibilities. She was also the recipient of the AICPA/UACPA Women to Watch – Emerging Leader award for 2011 as well as a recipient of Utah Business Magazine 30 Women to Watch Award for 2012. She has been named twice as CPA Practice Advisor’s Top 40 under 40 CPAs in America. Recently, Jonyce was awarded the AICPA Women to Watch Experienced Leader Award and Utah Business Magazine’s CEO of the Year Award.
Jonyce sits on the Advisory Board at both the Brigham Young University School of Accountancy, as well as the University of Utah School of Accountancy. She is on the Board of Directors for the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce and is an Ambassador for the Utah Women in Leadership project. Having grown up in a small farming community, Robert understands the concept of hard work and dedication. Growing up with a Dad who was a farmer and a contractor taught him a lot of important life lessons, and is where he gained his love of the construction industry as well as agriculture.
After earning a Master’s Degree in accounting at SUU, he moved his family to Las Vegas and worked in the public accounting arena there. He, along with his family, was excited to join the HintonBurdick team in 2002 after several years in Las Vegas. The move brought them back to their roots and Southern Utah.
Robert has been involved in the community in Cedar City and enjoys serving others. He is a 4-H leader and has taught many young people the art of raising show lambs and introducing many to the agricultural world. For many years he has taken a youth group to Mexico to build homes for the needy. He has volunteered in the Rotary Club, Iron County Home Builders Association, and the Southwest Livestock Show.
The outdoors is where he and his family spend a lot of time. If not in the outdoors, Robert really enjoys helping his clients navigate through the accounting and tax maze in their business. His expertise and life experience have really helped him understand the real estate and construction industries.

Jennifer grew up working in her parents’ restaurants learning the value of hard work at their elbows. She was taught that in business you must be able to do every job, and never ask someone to do something that you are not willing to do yourself. Her parents used to always say “If you don’t have to work hard for it, you will never understand its value.” She has carried these valuable lessons with her throughout her life.
Jennifer graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northern Arizona University with her Bachelors in Accountancy and began her career as an intern with HintonBurdick in 2011. She felt an immediate connection with the firm and its people and has made HintonBurdick her second home. Through the years she has worked with a variety of clients providing guidance and assistance where needed to help ensure their success. She finds great satisfaction in helping clients solve problems and hopes they learn as much from her, as she does from them.
In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, Jennifer is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Government Financial Manager. Her time is primarily spent on providing audit and attest, consulting and financial statement services to local government and non-profit clients.
In her off time, Jennifer spends her time keeping up with her toddler, Madeleine; her husband, Clinton; her two loving rescue dogs and a cantankerous cat. She enjoys learning about the history of the places she visits, reading, tinkering with whatever fix-it project she comes across (something she inherited from her Dad), and spending time with her Mom and sisters.

Matt Geddes

Matt joined the firm in 2008 after receiving a Master of Accountancy degree
from Utah State University. Matt manages audits of for-profit entities, local governments,

McKay was raised in a family of seven kids, which made for some very active and busy times. One point of interest that most of the kids shared, to some degree, was an interest in Science Fiction and Fantasy. This point of interest for McKay has led to a love of related topics in math, science, languages, cultures, and history, which in turn has ended up developing into a general love of knowledge and education.
McKay came to accounting through a side door, so to speak. After spending close to ten years in information systems development, deployment, and management, he was introduced to the world of accounting. As he delved deeper into accounting, McKay felt the financial systems reflected the same points of interest as the more general computerized information systems with which he had been working. Upon finding the accounting to be as fun as the coding and development he had been doing, he decided to move into public accounting.
McKay has focused on auditing, providing financial and compliance audits to a variety of customers. He enjoys assisting clients through the analysis of their systems, looking for areas that work well and areas that can be improved, to allow for more effective and efficient systems and operations. McKay has not forsaken the IT world, though; as he still provides and oversees information systems assessments and audit services.

About:
Gregory O. (Greg) Hyde, CPA, PFS, CFP® became a tax partner with Squire as part of its merger with Pinnock, Robbins, Posey & Richins, PC (PRPR) in 2018.
Greg was awarded Bachelor of Science and Master of Accountancy degrees from Brigham Young University in 1997. He was with Deloitte’s tax and financial counseling services groups in Seattle and Salt Lake City from 1997 to 2001. Greg then worked for PRPR from 2001 to 2018, becoming a partner there in 2011.
Greg is the past president of the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council, has served on the boards of the IHC Foundation for Homecare and Hospice and Primary Children’s Medical Center Planned Giving Committee, and volunteers in various other community and youth organizations. He enjoys many outdoor activities, including snow skiing, camping, boating, and hiking along with his wife and five children.

Steve started his career in public accounting as an intern with HintonBurdick. After working daily with the great people at HintonBurdick, Steve knew this is where he wanted to spend his career. When he is not at work, Steve will most likely be found “crawling around the mountains”, tending to his garden and orchard, or planning a new adventure with his wife Amy, and their three children. Over the years, Steve has partnered with Non-profit organizations to help children with life threatening illnesses to experience the outdoors. “There is nothing better than helping a kid catch their first fish”.
Professionally, Steve gets the greatest satisfaction by working closely with clients to help them achieve their goals. Steve serves on the Firm’s Government and Tribal Practice Development Group. Specifically, he oversees the annual Local Government Seminar sponsored by HintonBurdick. The primary purpose of the seminar is to proactively inform those involved, with financial management, of upcoming changes to accounting standards, how to implement the changes, improve internal controls, and how to deal with other challenges in their organizations.

From the time he was a small boy, Morris’s love of the outdoors was instilled by his family who hiked, fished and camped in the forests, national parks and desert areas in Utah. However, his love of the public lands was taken to a new level when, as a 15-year-old young man, he spent a summer working in Zion National Park in the Youth Conservation Corps program. A deeper love and respect for our public lands and particularly Zion was instilled through that experience.
Morris has a passion for the Not-For-Profit clients he serves. As the Chairman of our Not-for-Profit Services Group, Morris brings a deep understanding of the accounting, business and tax issues that are unique to Not-For-Profit organizations. He is an expert in consulting with Not-For-Profit organizations to build them in their decision making process and helping them grow and flourish.

Adam Posey

Adam worked with Pinnock, Robbins, Posey & Richins for 16 years before joining Squire in July, 2018 when the two firms merged. Adam earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Utah State University and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Utah. Adam specializes in partnership, corporation, trust, and individual income tax return preparation and planning. Adam enjoys assisting his clients with entity restructuring, business transaction planning, and small business accounting services. Jared holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in Accounting (Audit) from Brigham Young University. After a brief stint in Big 4 public accounting, he co-founded a startup in Event Production and Event Technology, serving as CEO for nearly a decade before moving into a career in venture capital.
As Chief Strategy Officer at his venture capital firm, he acted as a fractional CEO for numerous portfolio companies, gaining diverse industry experience across multiple sectors and stages of growth. He later became Chief Operating Officer, focusing on optimizing the firm’s internal operations and enhancing service delivery to portfolio companies.
Jared now oversees all internal operations at Squire, including Firm Administration, Legal, IT, Human Resources, and Marketing.

Garth Simpson

Garth Simpson serves as a Certified Public Accountant at Squire and is a member of the tax committee and business valuation team. He assists in training and support for new staff members and is an expert in state and local tax, with an emphasis in sales tax consulting. He specializes in business and personal tax returns (S Corporation, Corporation, Partnership returns) and helps set up retirement plans, performs tax consulting, and assists in tax planning for companies with general and specific accounting questions and needs. Before coming to Squire, he earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accountancy from Brigham Young University.

He has served as president of the UACPA and on the leadership council of the AICPA, as well as in other leadership positions within the UACPA. Paul Winward

Paul joined the firm in 1996, shortly before receiving a Master of Accountancy degree from Brigham Young University. Paul has many years of auditing experience working in various industries: nonprofit organizations, governments, construction, franchising, manufacturing, and professional services. Paul’s primary area of emphasis is providing audit and related services to nonprofit organizations with local, national, and international missions. The nonprofit organizations currently served include membership societies, Utah charter schools, school district foundations, local chapters of United Way, community health centers, and international aid organizations.
Paul also supervises Squire’s Form 990 preparation team, leads the tax-exempt industry group and assists in the firm’s employee recruiting efforts. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Brigham Young University.
Paul is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA), Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), Utah Nonprofit Association (UNA), and the AICPA’s Not-For-Profit Section.
