Wade K. Watkins

Area of Focus: Outsourced controller and CFO services; audit preparation services, assurance services (audit, review, compilation and agreed-upon procedures) for private or venture-capital-backed commercial businesses, governmental entities or non-profit organizations (including Single Audits). Wade also works with Squire’s wealth advisory and management practice.

Industry Specialties: Technology & Life Sciences, Construction, Governmental and Non-Profit, including government grant compliance.

Profile: Wade is a partner in Squire’s Advisory practice area and services a number of clients as their outsourced CFO, controller, or audit preparation and assistance needs. He also is the engagement or quality control partner on several assurance engagements. He is an educational speaker to university and professional groups. Wade serves on the Executive Committee within Squire. He serves on Squire’s Recruiting Committee.

About: Wade became an advisory and assurance partner with Squire as part of its merger with Pinnock, Robbins, Posey & Richins, PC. in 2018. Wade is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA). He has served as president of the UACPA and on the leadership council of the AICPA, as well as in other leadership positions within the UACPA. Wade has also taught accounting at Weber State University. Wade recently completed two terms on the Utah Board of Accountancy.

He enjoys many outdoor activities including mountain and road biking, backpacking, hiking with his wife, children and grand children, and anyone else he can get to tag along. He has also been coaching and refereeing soccer for over 30 years.
